Acoustic Truth

Acoustic Truth represents the culmination of an extensive exploration into the realms of sound, language, and meaning within contemporary storytelling. This project specifically focuses on the interplay between recorded sound and image, delving into their intricate relationship.

The investigation into truth within this context becomes particularly compelling when examining the connections between context and belief. To delve deeper into these themes, various exercises were crafted, involving the presentation of image without sound, image with sound, and sound without image.

This exploration materialized in the form of a short film spanning 04:36.476 seconds. The film showcases a series of exercises, such as an interview with former footballer Zinedine Zidane featuring entirely false subtitles and a bedtime story intermittently interrupted by censor bleeps.

Acoustic Truth prompts contemplation on the nature of perceived truth and how it undergoes alteration through factors like movement, semantics, censorship, knowledge, and emotions.
