Birdwalking
How would you describe the Oystercatcher?
Which bird reminds you of home?
Have you ever felt free as a bird?
Every August and September, while Hamraborg hosts its art festival, the mudflats of Fossvogur quietly host a festival of their own. Thousands of migratory birds pass through on their way south after spending the summer in the north. Join us as we walk from Gerðarsafn down the hill, through human and more-than-human neighbourhoods, toward the shallow bay. At the shoreline, we will set up the telescope and tune our attention toward the mudflats, attending to what we find, and to what finds us. The tide will decide what is visible. The birds will decide the rest.
